Razors without animal testing

  • What company which produces razors has "no animal testing" policy? Quality of the product should be comparable to Gillette, but without animals.

  • Hey martin7177, Check out this page. Might be of interest for you to browse around the rest of this site as well. http://www.leapingbunny.org/razors.htm

  • Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, none of these I remember to saw here in Slovak Republic. I think they do not sell them here. I have another look, but I am pesimistic. Anyway, I am satisfied with your answer. Thank you! Martin

  • The razor that is made in the UK and sold by the Vegan Store (linked above) should be available. According to the website, they ship to Slovakia. The Vegan Store also carries the Personna Tri-Flexxx Razor: http://www.veganstore.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=1&Product_Code=591 I hope you will be able to obtain one or both of these products by ordering online. The Preserve Razor Recyclable is not yet on the market, but it should be available through the Recycline website soon. You might want to keep an eye on that site to see whether you can order directly from Recycline. ~pinkfreud

  • The most prominent manufacturer of cruelty-free razors and blades is American Safety Razor, the maker of Personna products. I have used the Personna Tri-Flexxx, and it is the best triple-blade product I've tried. Beats the heck out of Gillette and Schick, in my opinion. "Personna Tri-Flexxx Razor Triple blade shaving system. A technologically advanced system designed to give you an exceptionally close, comfortable shave. Razor has a vitamin E and aloe lubricating strip to reduce drag and irritation. Comes with 2 razor refills. Made by American Safety Razor, a cruelty-free manufacturer." Different Daisy http://www.differentdaisy.com/nexternalhtml/personna-tri-flexxx-razor-.htm Two other good options: Wally and Spike. "Wally and Spike Razors Excellent shaving products made by a cruelty-free company (PETA approved). You get the razor and 5 replacement cartridges in this boxed set. 'Spike' Rubber Suction Cup Razor Molded out of rubber, the base of 'Spike' flairs out into a suction cup. His body bends and flexes in your hand, and when your done with him, just pop'em up on the shower wall. Always within easy reach, he's a blast to have hanging around. $10.95 'Wally' Rubber Suction Cup Razor As soon as you lift 'Wally' from his suction cup hanger, you'll notice how his smoothly curved shape fits perfectly in your hand. The nonslip wetgrip handle is molded out of solid rubber that flexes and bends as it glides across the most intricate contours of your skin. $10.95" Different Daisy http://www.differentdaisy.com/nexternalhtml/wally-and-spike-razors.htm Here's a British razor. Although the page does not specifically say "no animal testing," the fact that it is carried by a vegan site seems to imply that they have approved it: "Vega Razor Manufactured in a small UK factory. A twin blade razor with strong contoured handle that will fit most other blades. Comes with 5 twin blades." Vegan Store http://www.veganstore.co.uk/vega_razor.html The Squeeze'N Shave Travel Razor Kit is an interesting concept: "This set is truly a unique travel product - you get a razor and shaving lotion combined! Simply snap the razor head on the end of the lotion tube for a two-in-one duo that is perfect for the gym or a night away. Each package comes with a razor, three tubes of luxurious shaving gel and 2 extra razor heads. From Hok2, an animal-friendly and PETA-approved company! Available in Natural Plant (fresh, botanical scent) or Ocean. Kits are $13.99 each." Vegan Essentials http://www.veganessentials.com/catalog/squeezen-shave-travel-razor-kit.htm This razor should be released soon: "The EPA estimates that over 2 billion disposable razors are landfilled annually in the United States. Recycline's new patent-pending Preserve? Razor Recyclable is made for recycling ? just squeeze in the arms, pop off the blade and recycle the handle ? and like all of our Preserve products, the handle is made with 100% recycled plastics. Designed over the past two years with a team of graduates from Stanford, MIT, and RISD schools of design and engineering, the Preserve? Razor Recyclable has a sleek new design that feels great in your hand and helps you shave comfortably. Like all of our products, the Preserve? Razor Recyclable has not and will not be tested on animals." Recycline http://www.recycline.com/preserverr.html Regarding Gillette, this article, from a PETA site, may interest you: Ask Carla http://www.askcarla.com/answers.asp?QuestionandanswerID=530 Google search strategy: Google Web Search: razor animal OR animals tested OR testing OR "cruelty-free" ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=razor+animal+OR+animals+tested+OR+testing+OR+%22cruelty-free%22 I hope this will be helpful. If anything is unclear or incomplete, please request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further assistance before you rate my answer. I commend you for caring. The marketplace is slowly shifting toward cruelty-free products. Money talks: even if big business does not care about the needless suffering of animals, it does care about profits. Selective buying does make a difference. Best regards, pinkfreud
