need a service to ring my phone at a random time

  • there are wake up call services that will ring my phone at a specific time but i want a service that will ring my phone at a random time its preferable if it is programable or at least possible to shut it off from the phone rather than from the internet i need this for psychological/sociological experiments, i.e. at 5 random intervals during the day, note how happy you are feeling other solutions might be acceptable


  • if you know vxml, a vxml script would suffice. i have a voxeo developer account, if you can double check that i can still run such a script for free, then such a script would suffice as an answer to this question i'd be probably willing to pay more than $10 for it, and probably more for additional development


  • that works if the subject does not know that live people are calling or paging him since i'm one of the subjects, knowing that a person is paging me will bias the results, especially if i know the person


  • lukenosek-ga, This kind of thing is often done using a pager. The test subject carries the pager and randomly, throughout the day, he is paged. When the pager vibrates or rings, he records his mood. This way the system works even when the subject is away from his desk. Rather than automate, you just give the pager number to a couple of people and ask them to each call you 3x during the day. With several people doing the calling, the call times would be random. -K~
